A New Year's Note from Our Boyd & Berend Family to Yours

A Big Year, Together

This year, The Boyd & Berend Group closed 53 total transactions, reaching $82 million in total sales volume. We had the privilege of helping 27 buyers find their next chapter and supporting 26 sellers as they moved forward with confidence.

Six of our transactions were double-sided, meaning we were able to guide clients through both selling and buying—often simultaneously—making what can be a stressful process feel seamless and well-supported.

Our average sales price was $1,574,134, well above the Routt County average of $1,349,937.

  • 60% of our sales exceeded $1M
  • 15% landed between $3M and $7M
Altogether, our work represented 3.4% of all Routt County transactions and 3.9% of total county sales volume.

Connecting Beyond Steamboat

This year also took us beyond the Yampa Valley. We attended Sotheby’s Global Networking Event in Dallas, Texas, and a trip to Park City, UT for the SIR Ski Club networking event. Both events connected agents from around the world to share insights and strengthen relationships that directly benefit our clients.

Closer to home, Ben Berend was honored as a Twenty Under 40 Young Professional award winner, recognizing his lasting impact on our community. And once again, The Boyd & Berend Group was named Top 5 in Best of the Boat, a distinction we never take lightly.

The People Behind the Team

What makes us most proud is how our team personally shows up:

  • Cam Boyd volunteers weekly with the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club and organized a heartfelt community tribute in memory of Pete Van De Car, bringing the community together to care for his property.
  • Ben Berend leads Olympic Heritage Tours each week at the Tread of Pioneers Museum, sharing Steamboat’s rich winter sports history. This year, he even had the opportunity to teach the Discovery Learning Center what Nordic Combined and the Olympics are all about.
  • Shelly Wu coaches with the Steamboat Soccer Club and serves as Team Manager for Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Assoc.
  • Alexa Kaminski continues coaching the Steamboat Springs High School Dance Team, teaching youth dance, and guiding the Movement Experience to support mental health in our community.

Giving Back Is Who We Are

If there’s one thing that defines our team beyond real estate, it’s community. This year, we proudly supported organizations that serve youth, families, health, housing, the environment, and the arts, including:

  • Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association
  • Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club
  • Routt County Nordic Ski Association
  • Steamboat Dance Theater
  • Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports
  • United Way of the Yampa Valley
  • Tread of Pioneers Museum
  • Lift-Up of Routt County
  • Yampatika
  • Community Agriculture Alliance
  • Northwest Colorado Health
  • Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide
  • Partners for Youth
  • Mickey’s Fund
  • Steamboat Springs High School Athletics
  • Steamboat Springs Actor’s Studio
(and many more that help make this valley thrive!)

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

As we prepare for another winter in the valley we love, we’re reminded how lucky we are to do this work alongside people we admire. Thank you to clients and vendors who trust us, and in a community that supports us.

From our Boyd & Berend family to yours, thank you for being part of our year. We can’t wait to see what the next one brings.

Warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a bright year ahead.
