A Great Day On The Mountain

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

On Friday afternoon I had the opportunity to leave the office early and head out to the ski area for a few hours of fun. I was feeling stressed out from running around (I’ll spare you the details of working with bank owned homes in the winter) and catching up on my to-do list. When I left the office, I already had a smile on my face. (Yes, I would work all day on Sunday to make up for the afternoon off, but it was worth it. It always is.) I met my husband for a ride up the gondola and took my first run down White Out. There was plenty of snow and the sun had been out all day, making the bumps soft and slow. We rode up the Storm Peak lift and went to Shadows/Closets, one of my favorite tree runs. We didn’t have much time so we went as fast as we could and got a good workout. Another highlight was the Christmas Tree Bowl before heading over to the Morningside Lift. It felt like a spring ski day and I’m so glad I took advantage of it, since the cold weather is here this week. I took a few photos of that beautifully sunny afternoon and wanted to share them with you. Even if you don’t ski, surely you can appreciate the beauty of the mountains.
