With an abundance of groomed trails weaving through Mt. Werner, Emerald Mountain, Fish Creek Falls, and the Yampa River Core Trail leading to Downtown Steamboat, we live in a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers alike. If you want to take a short drive out of town, head south to the Flat Tops or north to the Zirkel Wilderness Area.
Float down the Yampa River on a hot day and immerse yourself in Steamboat’s summer scene. Take a leisurely tubing excursion down the river with friends or family. Kayaking, paddle boarding, and fly fishing are popular ways to experience our Yampa River.
Don’t miss the Main Street Steamboat Farmers Market between 5th and 8th Street downtown on Saturdays from June 8th to September 21st, 2024. Stroll down Yampa Street and check out the 150 vendors offering locally crafted goods for everyone.
Summer in Steamboat Springs keeps our locals and visitors busy with outdoor concerts, festivals, and cultural events each weekend. From the Free Summer Concert Series at Howelsen Hill to the renowned Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park festival, there’s always something exciting happening in town.
Experience our Western roots at the Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series every weekend at the Romick Arena. This iconic event showcases the skills of professional cowboys and cowgirls as they compete in traditional rodeo events such as bull riding, barrel racing, and team roping. The kids will have a ball participating in the calf and ram scramble led by a rodeo clown.
Visit the newly expanded and renovated Tread of Pioneers Museum. Learn about the regional history of Native Americans, skiing heritage, agriculture, mining, pioneer settlement, and town development. Our very own Ben Berend will lead the Olympic Heritage Tours at the museum every Tuesday from June 11th through September 10th.
