This is an email we received from a dear friend with hot news about Steamboat local and now WORLD CHAMPION, Todd Lodwick. We are ecstatic about this news and wanted to share:
from Grant…
I hope you’ve already heard, but if you haven’t I’m happy to tell you that there is a 2009 WORLD CHAMPION TODD LODWICK.
This morning, Todd won the gold medal at the Nordic Combined World Championships. This event is second only to the Olympics in the world of Nordic Combined.
You’ll find lots of pictures on the internet – here is an article:

Also, you can check out www.universalsports.com under “skiing” and find a bunch of info on his victory.
Nordic combined combines two events – cross-country skiing and ski jumping. In this event, the x-country skiing was yesterday (which Todd won) and it was supposed to finish with ski jumping afterward. However, the weather was too bad and they had to delay the jumping until this morning. He performed amazingly well this morning as well and won the event.
At the world championships, I believe there are 3 individual events and one team event – so he has an opportunity to medal more times over the next week.
THIS IS HUGE!
