Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty is accepting donations for this year’s Mickey’s Fund toy drive – a program to serve the in-and outpatient families at Children’s Hospital Colorado who are struggling. Mickey’s Fund, a program established by longtime local Moose Barrows to honor the memory of his son, has evolved into an event that the hospital calls Snow Pile.
New, unwrapped toys and monetary donations are currently being collected in Steamboat and will be delivered to Children’s Hospital Colorado before Thursday, December 15th. Donations are being accepted at Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty offices in Steamboat Springs, and at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Office.
The program serves over 1,000 children each year, ranging in age from infant to adolescent. Over the multi-day event, the children and their families enter a room overflowing with toys – everything from bikes to iPads, stuffed animals to trucks.
It is a simple way to make a difference in the lives of children who are spending the holidays in the hospital, and a way to bring their families some holiday joy.
