Steamboat’s always had a reputation for being a warm, friendly western town with deep ranching history. This is never more true than when the ‘Cowboy Downhill’ comes to town! That’s right, it’s time once again to spiff up those chaps, dust off your 5-gallon hat and get ready for some good ‘ol fashioned fun!
The 35th Annual Cowboy Downhill event hits the Headwall slope tomorrow at 1pm. Over 100 of the best pro bull riders in the country have been invited to Steamboat once again to slalom down the mountain over jumps, saddle a horse and lasso an Ambassador… all the while on skis! The event culminates with a stampede-style race down the hillside when all 100+ cowboys make a mad dash to the bottom to see who’s the fastest.
If you’ve ever felt out of control on skis or a snowboard before, you ain’t seen nothin’ like this! The annual Cowboy Downhill event takes all the toughness and tenacity that these pro bull riders can muster and has become a Steamboat tradition. If you’re in Steamboat tomorrow, you should definitely plan to come and witness this spectacle first hand.
Bring a camera – this may be the most prolific mixture of Wranglers and Salomons you’ll ever see!
