Fourth of July Parade
The heart of Steamboat Springs’ Fourth of July celebration lies in its lively Independence Day Parade. Starting at 10 am, the streets of downtown transform into a sea of red, white, and blue as performers and local organizations wind their way through Lincoln Avenue. The parade hosted by Yampa Valley Bank captures the essence of community spirit, with enthusiastic participants and cheering spectators creating an atmosphere of joy and patriotism. The parade judges will select the best theme, best group, best commercial, and best parade theme.

Ski Jumping
One of the celebration’s highlights is the Jumpin’ and Jammin’ ski jumping competition. As Steamboat Springs boasts a rich skiing heritage, this event perfectly combines winter sports thrills with summer festivities. Skiers from around the world gather to showcase their skills and bravery on the iconic Howelsen Hill ski jumps.

Pro Rodeo Series
Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, the Pro Rodeo series will take place at Brent Romick Arena. With its deep Western heritage, the town takes immense pride in hosting this thrilling event. Spectators can witness daring bull riding, exhilarating barrel racing, and impressive horsemanship skills as professional cowboys and cowgirls showcase their talents. The rodeo is a captivating experience that transports attendees back in time to the roots of Steamboat Springs.
Yampa River & Downtown Activities
For those seeking outdoor adventure, tube the Yampa River or bike the Yampa Core Trail to the downtown events this weekend.
Don’t miss another great Saturday at the weekly Farmers Market on Yampa Street. The Farmer’s Market is a favorite morning event for tourists and residents alike.
On the Fourth of July, Little Toots Park will hold a pancake breakfast from 7–9:30 am, at 9:15 am, watch the Nordic Combines 1K run, and at 9:30 am will be a 3K roller ski event. Lastly, outside of O’Neil’s Tavern and Backdoor Grill downtown, families can play in the Fourth of July Cornhole Tournament beginning at 4 pm.
